iCryl Mini  is a multi purpose medical device that can be used to close wounds, cuts, lacerations that are not contaminated and not infected.

The device is compact and is sized like a pen.

iCryl Mini is a single use medical device that is easy to store, carry and use.

A disinfectant swab dispenser and a topical skin adhesive nozzle applicator are provided at either end of the device. A roll of surgical holding tape is made available at the middle.

The device is very economical and can be used in variety of wound closure procedures is very effective when used in emergency rooms, casualty wards and on the field.

No refrigeration is required and can be stored at room temperature away from moisture and direct sun light.

A disinfectant dispenser swab is available at one end of the device.

About 2ml of disinfectant is available in the dispenser.

The cap is tightened to pierce the dispenser before use. ​

Invert the device and bring up to the application area.

Slightly press the tube to express the disinfectant out through the swab and to be applied around the wound area.

Wait for two to three minutes for the disinfectant to dry off.

Sterilizing the wound site decreases the chances of post surgical infection.

Topical skin adhesive applicator, with a nozzle, is available at other end of the device.

0.25ml of butyl cyanoacrylate adhesive is available in the dispenser. The adhesive is tinted violet for providing a visual clue to the help the application procedure.

To apply the adhesive, nozzle is tightened to pierce the tube.

The device held upright with nozzle at the top.

Using Thumb and Forefinger the center of the ahesive tube is pressed firmly so that the glue tube inside gets crushed and releases the adhesive that is now ready to be used.

Wound edges are closely approximated using a forceps or a gloved hand.

Adhesive is applied sparingly, drop wise, along the length of the wound.

Wait for a minute to dry off the adhesive.

Do not introduce the adhesive into the wound as it will hinder healing.

The sealed wound is further strengthened using surgical holding tape provided on a roll at the middle of the device.

About 1 meter length of surgical holding tape is available.

The tape is made of breathable paper and is hypoallergenic and latex free.

Apply three to five strips of tape perpendicular to the length of the wound for effectively securing the seal.

A small bandage can also be applied over the sealed wound to provide more protection.

After few days, about five to six days, tape strips and bandage can be gently removed.
